Quick question (and I'm sure a dumb one!) what is the significance of RTS?

It's Ready To Ship, a line of guitars built at the shop and then made available to the public. They are not customer spec'd guitars and it's a great way to purchase a Schroeder without waiting for a custom build.

Thanks John, My Doublecut Prototype Flattop has an RTS serial (I guess that makes sense if it's a prototype!)

they are all handmade as well just like the custom ordered ones so that's a plus too :)

and speaking of RTS and serial #'s....is there an RTS serial number list ? Or are they being included in the main Serial # thread ?

I know that the TigerBurst is RTS #3 after that I believe the Myrtle Chopper was # 2 and the Rosewood SC was # 4 or something like that.

The RTS guitars have a separate list. The custom guitars have serial numbers that are true to the order that they were spec'd and ordered, the RTS's are based on the leave-the-shop order.

For Custom serial numbers, we are in the 50's
For RTS guitars, we are on #0015
There have also been a few 'proto' guitars.

Hope this helps!

I have been waiting on a few to complete their specs so that I could list them, but I will do them incomplete. Have to go get kids now, but will post later.

The Redwood guitar that I have is a Singlecut Prototype as far as I know... Really? I thought Doc's SC S/H was the SC prototype...

Will's was the first traditional singlecut I ever built and was the prototype. The redwood was a move toward 59 LP physical dimensions/specs. Thinner top carve, Kluson tuners, real binding, but with alternate woods (Black Limba back and neck, Redwood top and Ebony board). It was built just to test some theories and I thought I might keep it - I am still playing my 15 year old original!! Anyway, it was not intended to be an RTS really so I never serialed it. I didn't even put it up for sale for a while. I just played it because I liked it so much. Tommy threatened to send out a hit on me if I didn't sell it to him... :D Really happy he has uses it so much.

By the way, just been listening to the Telling on Trixie CD while I wrap up Rob's "Black Mamba" DC. Tommy is amazing on it! And produced the whole thing. Cool to know that he is playing Schroeders on the CD. Great tones.
