guys,
debating between the "flame" pickup covers and the standard nickel covers.
what's your opinion? the flame is a cool brushed look but nickel is nice and shiny...
decisions, decisions.

well I've had both on my guitar and I prefer the brushed ones personally...I guess it depends on if your guitar is a "Look At Me !" guitar or an "Earthier" looking guitar (that's the word people use to describe mine at times)
No pictures at this moment but I really think it's just a purely cosmetic thing...I can't imagine it actually affecting your sound ?

The brushed look perfect on Tommy's, but keep in mind Tommy's guitar has a satin finish. My personal opinon, I like the brushed with satin finish and shiny covers with high-gloss finish.

I would go with the "flame" covers...I have brushed covers on two of my guitars and they are great! They don't look so gunked up so fast and I think they clean up easier.

Zebra all the way baby!!
Depends on your taste though, I think wooden covers look great but can take things a bit over the top in cosmetics on occasion.
Gloss metal is cool if nickel since when they age they'll dull nicely. The one thing that concerns me about brushed covers is that they'll polish up rather than dull down over time and look odd. It depends on what you want, for me, it's that worry that puts me off matt finished guitars as I think the wear can look odd, kinda the reverse of the way a gloss will age with polishing of areas of play wear rather than dulling.
